“It’s that time of the year.”

Meezer Colors Day 2011
It’s time to start thinking on how to best show your meezer colors. That day, June 8th, will soon be here. Last year, we had very good participation – including some meezers participating for the first time. It’s our hope this year’s event will be just as good if not better.
To participate:
- You must be a meezer, meezer bun, honorary meezer, or a feline living with or related to a meezer. A person pretending to be a meezer, a cat, or dressed in a cat suit does not count.
- You may use objects or whatever else is handy to highlight your meezer colors.
- Limited photoshop enhancements are permissible, such as brightness/contrast adjustments, resizing, red-eye reduction, and background scenes. If you adjust the colors of your background scenes, make sure it does not turn the color of your furs, points, and eyes to an unusual color.
Make sure you circle that date on your calendar. Also, if you any questions, please leave a comment.
It’s not treats day
One of the news readers, last week, at our local ABC affiliate called today, Patriot’s Day. That same reader corrected himself, properly identifying today as Tax Day. Hopefully, you didn’t have to give a “refund” to the IRS. If you did, it wasn’t too much and didn’t take away from your treats and toys fund.
Around the web
A couple of things we saw on the web …
The sort of scary -
It’s not what would be on most travel itineraries, a side trip to an abandoned castle or chateau. At the AOL travel section, they featured a slide show of abandoned castles and chateaux. Of course, walking through ruins is always a risky venture since the conditions vary. To view the slide show, click here.
A silent film -
Discovered several years ago was a silent film featuring the cable cars of San Francisco in 1906. A camera was attached to the front of a cable car as it traveled its route. A familiar landmark, the clock tower at the end of Market Street at the Embarcadero, can be seen. What makes this film worth seeing is that it was filmed four days before the Great Earthquake of April 18, 1906. A clip from the film can be seen here.
but it WAS Patriot’s Day – it’s an actual holiday in Massachuttes (specifically Boston) and believe it or not the banks in New England used to be closed! It’s also the day the Boston Marathon is run!
This year is FLYING by – Meezer Mom
MEEZER COLORS DAY!! YAY!!!!!!!!!!! We can’t wait!!!!!!!! – The Meezers
Well, the news reader didn’t mention that part about Patriot’s Day. If he did, may be we wouldn’t have ridi … ridi … we would have said okay.
Here it was ‘thank goodness we filed and paid up last week’ day. Nothing for the cat toy fund this year due to some unusual circumstances, but it could have been much much worse.

Are we un-official meezers? Related to meezers? Or purrhaps honorary meezers? We do know we are NOT pretenders. But being “himmies” we came, once upon a time, from the Meezers and the Persian who happened to meet late one night… the rest is history.
Can we be part of the contest?
