Miss Egypt has received another title …

During Fire Prevention Week in October, Egypt was named Fire Chief by the Ft. Carson Fire Department. Quite an honor, quite a responsibility.

It seems Meezer World Domination is being embraced at the local level here in Kitty Colorado.

Time? Standard.

Season? Fall-Winter.

Seasonal Colors

Last week, fall was interrupted again by winter. It is not too unusual, nor too early, for this kind of interruption. It just happens.

Fall was moving along very well. Leaves changing from green to gold, with an occasional splash of red here and there.

Suddenly, winter decided to make an appearance. Fortunately, it didn’t stay too long. And, didn’t leave us with much snow. At most, 2-3 inches. Points northward, however, received much more snow. The Denver metro area received 12-18 inches.

This week, it’s Indian summer weather again. Comfortable, sunny days. Clear, crisp nights. Most of the leaves are now on the ground, waiting to be raked.

Wired?

We’re proud not to be completely wired. No cell phones here. No BlackBerry/PDA either. We must be part of the 15% of the population not to be encumbered with such devices. Refusenik? May be, may be not.

Update: The cell phone refusenik article post at CNET is no longer available for reading, but the posted comments do remain visible. The article spoke of how people opted not to have a cell phone, mostly by choice. Those choosing not to carry cells doesn’t necessarily indicate a fear of technology – many have a laptop and/or desktop machine.

We would like to wish our grandma and grandpa (kitty dad’s parents) a very Happy Anniversary. It’s been fifty-six years, with many, many more to come.

With the days flying by so fast, and a busy schedule, we didn’t note Egypt’s Gotcha Day last week Thursday (October 22).

Ummm …, we didn’t forget. Miss Egypt had her special treats that day.
