A quick note …

Our service provider is streamlining their internet service options to produce a “better internet experience.” (Okay.)

One of the features we have used was their personal web page feature. The free space, though limited, permitted us to maintain a separate, full-feature web site. It permitted us to host image files there, which then could be inserted here.

Unfortunately, the free space has been eliminated in the streamlining process. As such, the photos on all of the previous posts will disappear. A new option is being pursued to allow us to post images. It’s not likely we’ll go back through our previous posts to edit image URL locations of a couple hundred photos and graphics.

Though cats do not particularly care for changes in their routine, adapt we must. It’ll be like being in a new house for a few weeks.

If you wish to recommend where we can host our image files, your suggestions will be welcomed.

The Phil Forecast

Derby commented last week: “I don’t think the groundhog in PA has much to do with your weather in CO!”

Sure he does. Phil casts a long shadow. 

Major winter storms, coming out of the Colorado Rockies, have a history of becoming either a strong winter storm in the upper midwest, a blizzard in the heartland, or an ice storm through Oklahoma, Texas and the Deep South. And, a few have become Nor ‘easters. (Also, many have fizzled out.)

More Winter White

Winter white, again.

Winter has returned to our surroundings in the form of a 2-3 day snow event that began yesterday. It’s expected to leave 2-6 inches of snow, much of which fell on Sunday afternoon. In our area, it’s about 2½ inches of snow. More is expected at mid-week, and possibly this coming weekend. If the additional snow develops, this has the making of a snowy February (a bit unusual for Colorado).

Super Bowl

These bowls are equally super, if not better.

They are used for our stinky goodness breakfast and our stinky goodness dinner. (And, yes, Dino’s bowl remains part of the line-up.)

The snow and cold has returned, staying possibly until early Tuesday morning. Whether we’ll have the same amount of snow like the Good Cats, that’s another question.

However, we have color to keep our minds diverted …

Or, it could be Groundhog’s Day.

Either way, it’s the shortest month on the calendar. We’ll need to be quick.

The February Outlook

The all-important weather prediction will be made tomorrow when Punxsutawney Phil gives his winter-spring forecast outlook. Will it be another six weeks of winter, or spring will arrive on, or ahead of, time?

Joe Lundberg, at AccuWeather, has offered his prediction that Phil will suggest another six weeks of winter is in order. Anyway, Lundberg has said this week’s weather will resemble last week’s weather.

Wednesday evening snowfall (Jan 27 2010).

Thursday early morning fog (Jan 28 2010).

Mourning doves having their seed after the sun returned Thursday morning (Jan 28 2010).

Time for another log on the fire, fleece pulled high, with a cat (or two, or three …) on the lap.
